I only once took a puff when I was drunk, and it did nothing to me. Absolutely nothing.
So I just decided I might as well not start, and I've had no trouble at all with that.

That bit's easy, but if you smoked a couple at a party or whatever and you got addicted I bet that it would be hard to stop.

Well, I'm 14 so OF COURSE I HAVENT SMOKED! The only advice I have to give is my consolation and JUST QUIT. We have programs at our schools and all that to teach us about "the dangers of smoking"
We watched this movie. If i could get a hold of it for you guys I sware you would never smoke again.
So I take it you guys would advize me not to start, right? :w00t:

I didnt call you a crook - I just said that people who dont have the money for cigarettes, often steal other peoples money to buy them. Read my post again if you think I called you a crook.

I'm not that stupid to go smoking (your case) in the first place. Who are you to call me names? You need help, not me.

im trying very hard to quit. having people come on this thread and telling us we r stupid to have started is not constructive. exspecially kids that have NEVER smoked. if you have never smoked dont tell me about how
a: dont start
b: ive never smoked but ...
ect. like i said i want to here from smokers. smug little kids who have never smoked in the first place coming on my thread to diss me and other adult smokers is not helping at all. i already feel like commiting murder im craving a smoke so badly. so u have never smoked, woohoo, dont spam my quiting thread telling me that.

Well let me tell you a story, it's not completely related but it's quite interesting. It's not first-hand, I heard it from a friend. This girl (16 or 17 years old, I think) she knew used to smoke daily. One day her parents found her packet when she was away, and at dinner time she found her dinner dish to be full of her cigarettes instead of food. Her parents forced her to smoke the cigarettes (10+, the packet was almost new) one after the other. After that, she's been completely hating the whole smoking thing.

As a tip to stop smoking, you could use some external help (for example, betting with friends that if you start again you'll have to pay a penalty or do a very stupid thing - like entering completely naked a McDonalds, or something like that) and find something to substitute the cig routine, like eating a candy or calmly enjoying your willpower while breaking in two the cigarette you're about to smoke. It's all a matter of mentality, really.
Self-control brings self-esteem, from personal experience.

Edit: and I'm in the former smokers cathegory.

OMG, did I put you down for smoking? I really dont care wether you smoke or not. But I told you before, you have my support. That movie I was talking about is like "holy cow!" you get to see all the junk that happens inside your body when you smoke. I felt like throwing up afterward. I dont think i can get it for you guys, but if you ever see it, tell me. Its horrible. (i know im never smoking)

Another good part about stopping somking is that your health regenerates pretty quickly, and the risk of lung cancer and other smoking related diseases diminishes with time...
