This remake is *FREEWARE*, and therefore belongs on Reloaded.

My personal opinion is with Frodo. And the remake is going on Reloaded regardless of what's done here, and the two sites were meant to be complementary with different focuses--AB being all about original versions always--not to compete.

I've taken a look and I can't find the text in the files. Some bits from "cutscenes" but not the conversations. Anyway as I said translating it somehow would mean an alteration, not unlike the Windows remake, and so it would no longer be an original release, even if it remained a program for DOS.

What? I briefly looked into the files when you were talking about translation. That wasn't the full text?!

Default Abadia del crimen

I have played this game (remake) It seemed familiar and then I realised it is based on the novel and film "The name of the rose" It is quite a nice little game and the only thing that was off putting was the direction keys..I wish the remake had made provision for mouse control.
As to where it should go..why is it different from the other fan remakes like "Kings Quest" etc. which are on the site. Please forgive my ignorance.
I do have a copy of the original and it is possible to play it with a basic knowlege of spanish but keep a good dictionary handy or one of those electronic translators!

Sal. Kings Quest was put on here before Reloaded was created.

We did that for other games which English version was lost (see Black Sect soon online and Ancestral Trail), translations doesn't really change the game, basically you can consider them like official translated versions of the game. People won't even notice the difference.

I can't know what text you mean. Please post a quote, or which file at which address did you find what. In ASCII I could find the full intro and ending, and what looks like a similar text "cutscene". I could also find stuff like this for example:

Quote:
BIEÎVENIÄÏÁESÔABADIÁHERMANÏOÓRUEGÏQUÅMÅSIÇAIÓHÁSUC EÄIDÏALGÏTERRIBLÅ
which must correspond (but not one to one) with this conversation from the beginning:

Quote:
BIENVENIDO A ESTA ABADIA, HERMANO. OS RUEGO QUE ME SIGAIS. HA SUCEDIDO ALGO TERRIBLE
EDIT: Also we should think about preservation of the original, even if AB ends up hosting a modified version. Google's index is full of links that used to host this game and are now broken. The only working link I could find is a Geocities webpage, and I'm not sure the files are all original, in one of them there are text bits about... the Italia 1990 Football World Cup?
