SPOILER: MISSION 1

Finally I bogged out the first mission (although still not sure what to do with the shipment as ransacking costs reputation).
I'd right that this has something else then the obvious, although I feel cheated that the man from the 2nd mission who has the same photo as the terrorist from mission 1 are not the same person.

To my suprise missions from Toth seem to be random too, but who cares until I don't loose missions.

My QUESTION is this: I finally abducted the smuggler, beaten out the info of his secret organisation. I started to infiltrate (the 3 random question the interrogator ask are really too few as only the day after I assigned all 100 agent to infiltrate turned out that the terrorists has only 10 member), but all of a sudden someone called "Shredder" removed all my datas on this group (and every detail of the mission) due to "security purposes".
Is this normal?

Ah bug!

Whenevr you get a mission about criminal twins, when reading through reports, do NOT continue beyond the first twin's file, otherwise the game will crash!

Hi! I'm resurrecting this year old thread because it's the only place this game it's discussed on the Internet and I want to help with a couple things that the well-know FAQ we use doesn't cover.

Spoilers-a-plenty!

Church of the subgenius
I tried the method here and it's way cooler, but on my first try I got away with this:
Discrete search on the leaders house.
Abduct the donor for interrogation.
Profit.

The bullet of the assassin
You don't need to do anything. There's no need to anger Garcia.
If you put surveillance and pursuit on everyone, eventually the killer will show up dead, "executed mafia style". It sounds like a weird bug -I think the game is bugged differently for everyone for what I read- because the text says "a MP has been executed". But no, it's the killer. The Mafia suddenly shows up in your groups and GM-Thoth gives you your blessings. I repeat, do nothing but observe. I'm gonna try without even get surveillance.

Pod People
The Pod never appeared in Hyde Park for me, and Garcia always got me, so on a "nicer" game I just tried abducting the right targets first thing, without proof. It worked fine. As long as you make the correct play, the game doesn't worry about your investigations. I don't think it will help the guy stuck with this, but...

NO SIGHT OF GARCIA
I managed to become Master of Thoth / PM without a deadly visit and a lead well over 30 points. It's perfectly doable even without saving, as long as you get a good january case combination. The point is: smear like there's no tomorrow and let some of the bigger cases go by. You shouldn't kill pro-government bigshots. Just take the hit. You can let go of:
The airbase strike
the Duke of Avon
The satanic judge (don't forget smearing the two other implied)
the righteous chief of police
the hooker friendly guy (another bug for me. he never implies the Thoth, but himself).
The Zaxxon guy... I like to kill this one because rep hits tend to stack, but it's up to your lead.

This laissez passer policy is specially important if you're gunning for Thoth Supremacy, since that will make you hit at least 3 big guys.


Miscellaneous
I have this weird bug that when I choose modern and reload the set comes back to classic. Also, on modern some of the suspects and its implications were all mixed up. For example, I killed the loony MP and it gave me the bonus about the Albanian supporter.

Abduction always works (but for Duke the Ripper) and Removal can leave you hanging.

Infiltration just seems worthy with albanian and the sendero luminoso massacres. You can even rescue Prince Harry by interrogating the third suspects without uncovering him before.

Interrogation looks random to me. I usually switch to One but sometimes the right answer comes in the first default session.

After some years I considered trying this again and I learned how to stay there for some months.
Quick enough, I managed to reach PM status after after some months.
Therefore: it's much harder in the beginning than when you manage to stay there for at least 2 months, things get much easier when you get the idea and also have more resources.

But, if someone knows, what's with you being one of the Thoth?
I have never found how to succeed in these missions...

Anyway I find the idea of the game quite singular but the interface is really annoying, punching numbers from 1 to 9 or the arrow keys gets so annoying after some time.
I also think that there should be a way to cancel some orders like termination and search after being issued.
