I wasn't meaning you Japo, or anyone in the thread, I was just trying to say instead of us all commenting on this one thread about Doom 1+2 we should be taking it somewhere else, like to the actual requests and offers thread for the games in questio, or to the staff forum if we want to work out what rules we need to obey for the shareware/demo/expansions games. I don't think anyone feels bad.

On the note of Doom/Ultimate Doom if only Ultimate is being sold (I thought they still had a sell link for the orginal version) lets just go with tha one. If we put teh Shareware episode up in the extras though we need to make sure that people understand it isn't Ultimate Doom though.

The Ultimate Doom is pretty much the latest version of Doom, so I would agree in using that as the basis of the article, it would make things much easier for the reviewer and clear up any problems.

No worries Darth, it seems both got each other wrong.

I'm not up to date on this Ultimate Doom thing, but in general I've always thought we should call the games as exactly as possible what the publishers did originally. In particular I never liked when Kosta named "Civilization 1", "Star Control 1", "Doom 1", etc., also renaming "Star Control II" to "Star Control 2", "Doom II" to "Doom 2"... (Actually I think it was "Doom ][" most times that Id Soft. wrote it in ASCII text in the documentation.) I think I agree with TA here.

Using Arabic numerals is practical. If you have:

Game I
Game II
Game III

then searching for "Game II" would find you "Game II" and "Game III" ;-)

Otherwise I'm also against renaming the games (say, "Civilization 1") in other places than forum talk.
