It seems my mac dosn't detect its sound card. I checked it and it looks pluged in, have to see if its not pushed in hard enough though. I am runnin Mac OS 9. I went to sound devices and says no device.

Problem with the drivers? My PC did the same thing a few months ago (couldn't detect the sound card) but turned out that it was a virus affecting the hard drive. Ye olde format was the only solution according to the tech.

formats go very smoothly if you export your major info via CDs b4 dropping the format bomb, good luck

from a friend I heard Macs rarely use drivers. The only time a driver is used, is when a new piece of hardware (ie. Serial ports to USB) is used. Also I formated the mac before I installed the OS
