Default Prophecy of the Shadow

Hi there,

as wanted I searched the Forum but I couldn't find anything about this game.

I would like to request Prophecy of the Shadow. It's a RPG from SSI. I still have it on 5,25" Disk but I guess I won'b be getting any 5,25" FDD anymore. So it would be nice if I could get this game here.

Thanks in advance

Default Prophecy of the Shadow

Hi all,

some time ago I remembered an Action/Adventure game I used to play on my x386 (in 1994 if I remember correctly). Now, that was an unfortunate event, because ever since it's stuck in my head and I can't get it out of there. Game Surgeons, help me pleeeease :wallbash:

All these days I keep remembering facts about the game and hopefully they will ring a bell for some of you and hopefully you will remember the title and ideally someone will have the game in question

Here are the facts:

1. The game featured dodgy graphics (weren't they all those days...) I'm guessing it was released before 1994 when I first played it.

2. It had a third person perspective; it started off on an island you had to explore. I seriously don't think it's one of the Ultima series (but might be wrong).

3. There were some cone-shaped pillars scattered here an there (in sets of two). At some point in the game you acquired a magic wand; using it between the pillars trnasported you to other locations. I also remember a Stonehedge-like construction of such pillars (forming a circle that is).

4. At some point, you'd find a severed head; you had to take it to a witch (or something similar), who cast on it the Relevare spell (or again something similar) and the head would come to life and give you information.

5. The islands were infested with bandits, whose loot you could steal if you killed them. There were other monsters of course; I particularly remember the venom spiders and the Gazers that looked like beholders.

6. Toward the end of the game you had to find your way through a dungeon-like construction with many Gazers. In the last room, there was a Gazer you shouldn't kill that advised you to "seek ye the last of the High Gazers..." (or something similar; I feel I'm repeating myself!)

7. I remember the ending of the game vividly; that's because I think I was dissapointed that it was a static screen with the picture of a smiling blonde princess and a text celebrating your achievement.

8. As far as I remember, the size of the sprites was pretty small; when your character was holding a sword you could see that on the sprite.

That's all I can think of I'm afraid. As you can see, it has been engraved on my memory; it was the first adventure game I ever played (i used to spend my time with Super Mario and Titus the Fox before - almost pathetic :P) and was doomed to seek new (virtual and real-life) adventures ever since.

I would be greatful to the anyone who has an idea of which game this is. Okey, I'm not gonna kiss your smelly feet, but I'm more than willing to have an emoticon bow before you -->

Thanx for your time, keep those good ideas coming!

Some of the things sound like Faery Tale Adventure II, others not so. Also maybe Faery Tale Adventure (I), I haven't played it.

No, no, no I've played Ultima Serpent Isle and it's not that. But it would help I guess if I mentioned that the graphics of the game I'm referring to were much, much simpler than those of Ultima SI.

Thanx anyway
