Do XBoxes use the same format of a CD-ROM as a PC when a PC burns stuff onto it. I also have the same question again but replace XBox with PS2.

Not sure. The discs would have to be image-burned anyway.

If I remember the PS2 uses some modified CD format that checks some ares outside of where CDwriters can write to verify that you're not using burned CDs to pirate games.
However, this can be worked around by getting Mod chip and installing it (or having it installed) on your PS2. Doing so voids the warrenty, but if you want to pirate games being supported by "the man" may not be a priority. |

According to my knowledge, not all modchips are a permament fixture to the console's circuit board.

There's also Swap Magic for the PS2. But it's easier with the big version.
I found out that the Warranty-seal on my PS2 is placed rather dumb. I can open it, without damaging the seal. Kind of useless if I don't use a modchip though |

Xbox uses "XFAT" The guss CDs use it too
FATX or XFAT is a slightly modified version of the FAT filesystem, and is designed for Microsoft's Xbox video game console hard disk drive, used in an effort to reduce software piracy. The Xbox also uses FATX on its memory cards, so to read them on a PC (or indeed write to them in a way an Xbox would understand) a special application must be used (the cards themselves connect to the console/PC via an Xbox controller, which is (electronically) USB; hardware-level connectivity is not a problem). Action Replay is one such application/USB hardware/memory card that reads FATX giving it the ability to store game saves on a PC. |
