No i had trouble reading the CD-ROM during installation. I thought if i mounted it via dosbox i could run it together with the game.
The game runs entirely from the CD. The installation consists of creating a directory on your HDD to store the saves in and a batch file that runs the game with your selected options. The floppy version will not use the CD version's assets.
Getting an error message about CD drive speed is normal and does not affect the rest of the installation.

The actual problem is that dune.bat tries to run the game from the root of your C drive - where it does not exist, period.
Replace contents of dune.bat with this:
@echo off
REM *** DUNE-CD launcher V3.6 ***
