I don't know why, but my school only allows me to use yahoo messenger, not msn messenger, they seemed to have blocked the use of it, wonder why though, you used to be able to use it....

Msn 6 forced me to upgrade to 7 >_> It kept refusing to log me in, saying there was a new version available, and I had the choice: Download it now and be able to sign on, or don't download it and be unable to sign on. I switched to Gaim for a month because of this pushy crap, but that one sucks arse too. Tabs for the people you talk to... and just the main window flashes, leaving it up to you who's said something, as just one of the many annoyances in that thing.

If you don't like gaim you could always try trillian, I could never get gaim to work, I might have to go back to trillian, I figured microsoft might pull that strategy of refusing to log people in, they did that last year, with one of the criticial security patches for the new version, if you didn't download the version, you were locked out.

I've tried Trillian several times before, and it's a general pain in the behind.
1) File transfers don't work 2) You can't see who's on which messenger 3) Either you get the most annoying, pushy popups ever when somebody logs on, that require you to click OK before you can do ANYTHING on your comp, or you won't know who logs on at all... no way of doing it in an elegant way. Then again, Msn doesn't have that either, but at least those popups aren't so pushy. 4) The interface's a general pain in the behind. Can't find what you need, unless you feel like searching for it for an undefined amount of time. |

Be glad you can still use 6.2. Some of us aren't as fortunate and are stuck with those buzzers and winks

Yeah very true, question remains though if users who don't want to upgrade to 7 will still be able to use them in the upcoming months.
