Story-wise, at least. It was mainly focused on showing off their technical skills in 3D animation, which was generally concidered an astounding feat for that time. They spent too much time on that, and not enough on making the movie itself captivating, so you never saw past the technical wonders.

I also heard they're making a Doom movie. I honestly don't even want to know why. 's Not like any game's fun can be captured in a movie, especially not if that game's not story-driven. What would they go on? Having Schwarzenegger have a go at hordes of digital imps for ninety minutes? It's just not the same.

The first Final Fantasy movie sucked: Like any other Game-Movie, it didnt had anything to do with the game (Expect that Gaia theory).

Also, the movie's even gonna feature a innovative "first person camera", which means it'll probably be like watching someone play Doom for 90 minutes :not_ok:

And yes, there's also gonna be a Halo movie and a Metroid movie. What's next? A Unreal Tournament movie? Or even Quake, while we're at it.

DOOM has The Rock in it, and it created a story from a game that had none...of course it's going to suck.

Now a Halo movie could be cool, but I doubt it.

THey're also coming out with Duke Nukem the movie, again, probably will suck.

Edit: HERE is the trailer for DOOM for those of you who haven't seen it. THey even have the chainsaw weapon. It really does look like you'll be watching someone playing the computer for gor about an hour. Yay for stupid ideas! The biggest plot point seems to be at the very beginning; that scientists finished mapping out the entire human genome. That's the only essence of plot
