Default Recommend a game?

I'm looking for a new game. Any new game. Well, not exactly, but I'll explain in the moment. So, yeah, suggestions would be appreciated!

Personally, not a big fan of FPS. Love some of them, hate most of them. They're fine when combined with RPG elements, such as Fallout 3, but the rest of the time I get a bit bored. Feel free to hit me with a stick.

Strategy: great. I've probably played all the Paradox Interactive games now, as well as the Total War series. But I hugely prefer turn-based or real-time as opposed to tactical. You may have guessed, but I'm a little bit squeamish and not wholly interested in war.

So, basically, any games you could recommend that fall into either the strategy, simulation, or rpg categories would be awesome.

Fallout 1&2. RPG Goodness.

If you mean a game that has come out recently...I wont be of much help.

*Goes back to his old games*

No worries I love old games. Been playing a lot of DOSBOX games recently. I'll have a look at Fallout 1 and 2. Thanks!

if you want strategy just look at the games and select the strategy sub division, i thing that will offer some goodies, and the links offered from those games (at the bottom) will help you on. when you've explored all of that, and want to know other people's opinion, see you here again

I guess it's not all that new. But Dragon Age is a really nice rpg in my opinion.

Strategy? Heroes of Might & Magic III, Master of Orion 2.

RPG? DEUS EX. If you haven't played that... what are you waiting for?

Tried this one already? It has a bit of all of it.
This one also. You might want to get the full ISO of it from The ISO Cellar though.

As for pure RPG, I would recommend Arcanum, but it's not available for download here, you'd have to buy it.

Battleships Forever is a good freeware strategy game. Also, Warzone 2100 is an interesting strategy game where you can actually customize the units that fight for you. (Also Freeware)

For simulation games, I like recommending almost any game from the Mechwarrior series. You can download the first Mechwarrior game off this site, and Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries has been released as freeware.
