I have that game - a real underdog. It's damn fine for its age and has great atmosphere. Only problem is, it's BIG. As in a whole CD you can't rip anything out of.

I don't expect Congo to be abandonware. But since I couldn't find it on the web, I can't help but asking here. Maybe somebody is more professional than I am...

Isn't that game too big for this site? I remember it was a cinematic adventure, wasn't it?

Published in March 1996 by Viacom Newmedia, according both to Mobygames and HOTU.
Viacom is not an ESA subsidiary, no information or support for the game is offered on their website. Oldwarez List has two games published by them in 1995 and 1996 as AW.

Conclusion - unless anyone is able to find this game for sale, it qualifies as Abandonware. :brain:

PS. I've read "Congo" by Michael Crichton - the book on which this game was based - and I'd love to play the game.

Sounds very good. I owned the original back in the days. But I lost it together with many other original games. Never managed to get very far into the game. Though I haven't read the book. But I watched the movie. And I'd love to play it again, too. It might be that the game's too huge for the site. But a very nice person named Icewolf pointed me to the possibility of the Iso-Cellar.

EDIT: Ok, I ordered a second-hand copy of this one at amazon. I was tired searching the web. I'm not sure about the language. But I'd love to share it with you... maybe in the cellar?!

Oh, yes, the ISO Cellar. I always forget about it. :wallbash:

Should take a look at it sometime.

Yeah, I've seen that. Win3.X might be a problem, huh?

Not neccesarily. DosBox runs Win3.x from what I heard (never tried doing that, though), and if that fails - Virtual PC should do the trick.
