If you try to focus on the people behind the games, I'll bet you'll find, that (most of the time) it's the same companies that make the great stories, and the same companies, that make the really lousy ones. Blizzard is an example - they surely know how to write a storyline! Lucasarts belongs to that group too k:
On the other hand - ID software/Raven Software ain't exactly known for great storytelling.... :not_ok: This may of course have something to do with the genres the different companies design their games in.... /Raasted |

Phantasy Star 2 has the worst overall story I've ever seen though.

I have a few complaints for Opposing Force's ending as well :P The boss was WAY too easy, and when you kill him, game over.......Absolutely nothing of interest happens..IT MAKES ME WANNA SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i mean you were supposed to escape the Black Messa complex after you crashed there unexpectedly. so what is that thing? you kill it, so what? how do you escape (find a way out of) the complex??? Shouldn't there be some transport or something you would find behind that fatso? yup opposing force ending: :not_ok: And it had such a good potential of making a story from the other perspective. Maybe you could even go through some save levels Freeman did. only maybe after he caused some changes there. like destroying something... and you would have to correct it. so you would be really mad at him by the end and you would really want to catch him (like the soldiers do when you play as Freeman).

Silent Hill made no sense at the end unless you got the good ending, not only that, but the movie also confused me.
