How did you try to run it?

Well, I tried it thru windows, and that didn't work, with either the program exiting as soon as I get into it, or with it wanting the game to be in the D drive.

Ah, yes, of course. Anyway, it's working now. music reminds me a bit of Warcraft (the original game) and/or Gumby.

Finished it. You really, really, really need the walkthrough. Oh, is it possible to get less than 1500 out of 1500 score?

Oh, and did Fizban from the Dragonlance series turn up as Zifnab in the books?

Yes, in games where the full score equals every possible bonus task and/or the best solution for every problem (I remember this being the case with the monster and droid in Space Quest 1 VGA - you could get rid of each individually or have them destroy each other, which gave you a better score).

This game is wonderful. It's got a great, imaginative story and the interface is about the best I have ever seen in a game of this type. Some games make you click all over the place just to do the most basic things and this is really frustrating when you are stuck. Death Gate was an absolute joy to play with its predictions of what you are trying to do and some kind of feedback for almost any combination you might enter.

The best thing about this game was it's puzzles. So many games have "get this key", "open that door", "yawn", etc., but Death Gate has some really enjoyable puzzles that make you smile to yourself when you work them out - and you usually know you have the answer before you try it out. It's a very rewarding game, and I dont think I have played any better (and yes, that includes Monkey Island, Simon the Sorcerer, etc.).

I would recommend this game to anyone, it's pure fun and no frustration.

Ha. You really need the walkthrough for this game.

Great game, though.
