man.. this game sucks

i was looking forward for it for all the months and now they screw a perfect idea like this. it s one of buggiest games i ever played.
ok..there are some nice parts ..and the whole idea is realy genial, but realisation sucks. from weapons through sound and atmosphere to bugs..they could had done it better.
its worth playng, but i was expecting way more.

..and game isnt playable and 'enjoyable' til more patches are out. fixing mainly AI and technical bugs. and who knows, maybe something more..

yes, there are some bugs, but himo is really cool.

I really like the idea, it has fps and rpg parts inside and it's totally unique...great AI intelligence, different weapons, a living fauna, random missions...whoa I say!

When I play it I feel like I'm into this tragedy....
I never played a game like this before (and I've played lot and lot of games)...
I am sorry that you don't like it russ, but I'm gonna finish it many times

Some guys at A. Reloaded told me that a prequel of this game is under developement, for those that are interested take a look here: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky
I hope they will finish it in a reasonable time...I don't want to wait other 5 or 6 years :P

Gosh.. wel - I learned of it 2-3 months ago (exclusive to one magazine - thats why). but I didn't knew it was called clear sky. In the stalker's books it's a name of one of the clans.

I didn't know about a sequel, but this look great!!!
I haven't played S.T.A.L.K.E.R. yet. It's on my list of games to play once I beat Doom 3 and Brothers In Arms: Earned in Blood.

Personally I love S.T.A.L.K.E.R., but it's a game you could love or hate, it's unique in it's genre.
It's a mix of a FPS, a RPG, and why not an Adventure game.
Definitely better than DOOM3. The borest FPS ever made IMO.
Yes, you can say it has great graphics, but the story sucks and it's dark like hell.
I prefer the old DOOM titles

@gufu: I heard that they will improve the strategy part of the game including 8 new clans!

no, not realy. i dislike it cause of terrible AI, but the game concept isnt bad

AI was't so bad, enemies were able to surround me, to hide, to move like spiders and to avoid my bullets (you can see the real AI only on high difficulty, they are smarter)...the real problem are BUGS!
And I didn't like some missions that randomly the game assign you when you enter a new area.
But russ I think you didn't see the best part of the game, they worked harder on that, for example the big red forest, the city of Pripyat (don't remember the right spelling) and Chernobyl are really amazing.
And did you see illusions?
Some parts of the game are really creepy...there's a zone where you play in a black & white mode because...well I can't tell, I don't want to reveal too much to Scarface

I'm with you about the AI of the environment, dogs and wild boar are too much stupids...and other creatures too.

Edit: About bugs they are still working on it. They made some patch (the last one is the v.1.0004)
