Something escaped from the afterlife... that's getting a typical setting for "modern" games. A biest with powers seemingly too much for the hero to bear, and with big scaly shoulders. Plus some Armenian music like used in Troy, for the exotic flavor.
To be honest, I don't think that game would be that great. Not comparable with the classic Ms-Dos Alone in the Dark series, anyway.

you could say that for films just as much though but the how difficult must it be now to acrually think of an original idea?

films and computer games have been made covering just about any subject or circumstance that you could think of

sorry to disagree Scatty but I am planning on giving this the benefit of the doubt and I don't just automatically respond with the ' the classics are the best line '

personally I enjoyed doom 3 just as much as doom 1 if not more and although I did not like gabriel knight 3 as much as GK 2 I quite enjoyed the most recent monkey island. for me it is just down to how the game plays in isolation as I think it just spoils it when you start comparing one game to another especially when coupled with a heavy dose of nostalgia!.

This is not a personal argument with you but I do wish people would stop giving this kind of response as I have played plenty of more recent games that were great to play just as I have played plenty of both old and more recent games that were lousy.

( I may give it some time though before daring to return after sugesting this on abandonia LOL )

Only reason this seems to look better than most sequels/remakes these days is because while it doesn't look much like the first few games, it still feels a lot like it's been inspired by Cthulu, which is what made the previous games so interesting, as long as it has that, and it's not AitD 4 that's fine by me.

I am a sucker for survival horror, so I will probably at least try it. Here's hoping it is as good as the original.

If it's anywhere as good as the movie, i'm totally up for it!

Enjoy the sarcasm!

That is not dead,
which can eternal lie,
and with the strange eons,
even death may die.

(Couldn't resist it.)
