I rediscovered Battlefield 2 today as I was reading the forums and came across a discussion of a mod for it. Once the patches finally downloaded (who knew you'd need to update a game after 2 years) I quickly got back into the swing of things.

Heh, I always wanted to play that - never had the hardware and now I do, I'm a Linux user of 4+ years Foiled! EA generally has good taste in publishing war sims - the PSP version of Medal of Honour is addictive.

As far as FPS go, it's a pretty good game. My system isn't beefy enough for Modern Warfare 2, so I can't compare it to the newer ones. I think it's one I'll keep playing as long as there are servers up for it.

The demo was cool, but short. Too short to get me immersed in the game.

Well, I think the goal of a demo is to make you curious and to teach you mechanics. Even the demo of the Tales of Monkey Island wasn't so special, but the game is incredibly well done.

I can't remember the last demo I finished so quickly. Maybe I should reconsider it.
