This game had a vertical learning curve, took my a couple of hrs just to figure out how to use weapons and eat food.

I can't seem to get it to run. I'm using DOSBox with the DFend front end. I've tried putting all the .exe files (one at a time of course) into the profile to run but it just doesn't work. I get a brief blank dosbox screen, then it just closes and nothing else happens.

Am I doing something wrong? (I said sheepishly.)

I tried to run the game under DOSbox in Linux

in the zip there is a single directory "agame", so I unpack it

then I go to the directory and run "dosbox ."

now I am in dosbox command line - I run setup and it asks me questions, I answer, OK

when I run any of the three other exe files, some text quickly appears on the screen,
but it vanishes before I can read it and leaves me in the command line, so I don't know where the error is...

OK, i finally got it to work

The problem with this archive is, that it did not pack the subdirs right.
You need to create a new folder "DATA" and move all files in there except:
API.EXE, APO.EXE, SETUP.EXE, START.EXE, MODUL.DRV, SETUP.TXT

If you want to be save create a "SAVE" folder.

The game should then start.

The game keeps crashing for me as soon as I choose my four characters. Has anyone else encountered this?

Never mind. I should have seen it. I had module.dat in the main file instead of the data file.
