hey looks great but can't play it , every time i hit enter to start the game it just bombs out on me exits the game im using dosbox can anyone help me please.
i realy like the game had the original but lost it a year back in house fire.  |

Yeah, i keep playing this game, and it keeps freezing all the time, it barely runs for 5 minutes before it crashes. Did anyone use any special settings in dosbox to make it run more stable?

well it does'nt freez or anything on my pc it just plain exits and returnes to dosbox i hope all my settings are right though please help

If you got a message saying that the archive didn't extract properly, then the download most likely got corrupted. Perhaps you downloaded the archive just as we swapped the buggy archive with the working one?
You should try downloading again.

I ran it in dosbox at about 15k cycles (run all dos games at that though as i've a pretty beefy machine) and the only slight problem i ran into is that typing the name of a savegame didnt work. The only way I could get any characters in the name was to hit z which registered as a 0 in the savegame name for some reason. Still functional though.

Hey all, I'm not new as I've been using the site for about 8 months now. However I've only just registered on the forum!
Anyhoo - for all you peeps who where struggling with Fable freezing when you start a new game. I was also having this problem where if I did anything with the mouse or pressed return the game would freeze. However once I read ukm's post (thanks ukm!) I turned the cycles on dosbox up to 10000 (it seemed a nice round figure  ) and that solved the problem and I can now play the game.I still had the problem with saving the game though - it's a good job it puts a thumbnail of your location up or I'd forget which save was which! Hope you guys can play now. |

Yeah!
We just discovered that ourselves. If you run the game in 3000 cycles (standard DOSBox) then it freezes. You need to run it at 6000+ (personally I used 7000). So everyone must enhance the cycles of DOSBox (CTRL + F12) to 6000+ Finally solved the problem

i can type any letter at the save game, but when pressing OK nothing happens??
