Default Geometry Wars Evolved

I downloaded this game from XBOX Live just before christmas and I have to say this is just pure fun, fun, fun! I can't remember a game from the last 10-15 years which gave me such an awesome "old-school-arcade-feeling" like in the old days. Having so much fun with such simple gameplay reminds me of old C64 times, when you played hours of River Raid, Falcon Patrol or Fort Apocalypse. The simpliest form of shoot'em'up but it just didn't get boring. Now with Geometry Wars Evolved this feeling got back to my tv screen.
I just sit there and start over and over again having a lot of fun.

To be honest: For years I didn't believe there could be a game nowadays which transports the old arcade feeling in such a way, now I'm very happy!

Just wanted to share this feeling with you...

Download the free demo version to see if it fits you, I played this for a week or so until I downloaded the full version.
The only restriction in the demo is a max. playing time of 4 minutes but you'll have a hard time reaching them in the beginning. :amused:

BTW: the game may seem ridiculously hard at first (especially after 2-3 minutes), but you'll get used to it with more and more playing time, and the fun even grows

One last thing: I'm talking about the XBOX 360 Version of the game which makes use of both analog sticks, one for moving, one for firing. I don't know how control is done in the Windows or the Wii version, so I can't give a recommendation for those.

Default Geometry Wars for Nintendo DS is a great game

pure fun... this is the only real old school shooting game for the DS

the UI with the touchpad used for the directions of the shots is something to get used to first but than its really great...

the overwheming number of objects on the screen is just amazing

It reminds me a bit of Gridrunner on the commodore 64

P.S.: If someone has other similar DS recommodations... I would be interested
