I got it going in compatibility mode I think - there was definitely a problem with it for me but I can't remember it off-hand. You may need the patch for Windows XP too.

It was kicking my arse in Win 98.

The setup program didn't install it noCD, the NoCD didn't override it. Pissed me off...

there is a XP patch on the firaxis homepage.
Try it and everything should work fine.

Woo, just finished my Iron Man game yesterday with the consciousness - final score just over 8000, 401% MY2336 I think. It was on Talent difficulty though, but still not bad. I had a weird research path - got R4 before R3 and all the Graviton techs after Transcendent Thoughts were available. I like the way in the endgame you can be researching several of those per turn, even with plenty of Psych allocation to boost the score.

Three cheers for posting the exact same post in two forums!

I myself see no point in "Iron Man", it increases your score but I'm just too much in the habit of constant saving (even though I hardly ever go back to a save if anything goes wrong), plus AC doesn't like my computer muc hand so is rather prone to crashing.
