Default Platform Slasher with a Knight

Hi!

I'm looking for a game. I totally can't remember the name, but you played a knight and you had to jump a lot and kill monsters. It was side-scrolling and there were traps and holes in the grounds and you had to solve a few lever puzzles or so. Anyone here who knows this game?

When did you play that game? Did it run on DOS or on Windows?

Ah! I know both of those games. But they aren't what I searched for. It could have run on DOS or Windows, I'm not sure. I was young.

Could you at least give us some cut-off year? It doesn't have to be exact, but it does limit the number of possibilities we have to check for (unless someone is very, very lucky).
Is there perhaps any particular detail regarding the game - the user interface, the graphics, the title screen - that you remembered?

Any of those games? They are however mostly for Nintendo NES.

I probably played it around 2000, but it definitely was an older game, because we had an old computer and old games. It's graphics I think was similar to The Lost Vikings, perhaps even a bit better. I think the knight was pretty large and was always wearing an armor. I can remember being in castle levels, with grounds made of gray rock.

Last Knight doesn't have slashing, my bad. It's a fun little game, though ^^

I know it's for the SNES, but do you search for Ghouls 'n' Ghosts?

edit: It seems the youtube-integrating-functions does not work? So I added the video to the game as a link, too.
