XCOM - no sound
Hello! Just found this site yesterday. I am running dosbox on XP and when I try to run the DOS UFO:Enemy Unknown, there is no sound. The game works great, just no sound. I have run WOX, LOL, and ROAST without any issues.
I ran setup.exe in the main directory and selected the sound info (SB16), but it doesn't stick. If I go back into setup again, everything is unset. I tried doing some searches (which also resulted in me getting very distracted reading all kinds of other stuff), but haven't been able to locate one on any sound problems with xcom. Any tips appreciated! Tom |

Check if any of the files in the main directory aren't per chance set to Read-Only. If they are, remove this attribute.

Ok, so if I run ufocd.bat I get sound. I was running the go.com file. After slowing it down to like 20%, seems like it will work perfectly. Still doesn't seem to keep my sound settings when I go into setup.exe, but I guess it actually does. Regardless, it works.
Thanks! Tom |
