If your goal is maxing stat points you have to take bruiser instead of small frame and don't take the advanced implants. 10 instead of 9 strength allows carrying more stuff for more flexibility and doing more melee damage.
10 instead of 8 perception won't make a difference at all when weapon skills are high enough at level 99.

Killap's Restoration Patch does fix the bug with the Pariah dog. Also the optional Companion mod which can be installed together with it fixes and improves many things about the companions, like allowing to change the commands for Gorris for example.

Actually, 6th member does not have to be Pariah dog, AFAIK Killap's patch fixes Magnetic Personality perk.

As for stats, this is what improvements you can get during game (no mods):

ST: +1 Brotherhood enhancement, +4 Adv. power armor.
PE: +1 enhancement
EN: nothing
CH: +1 enhancement
IN: +1 enhancement, +1 from Hubologist scan (more below)
AG: +1 from dating Miss Kitty (AFAIK you need very high CH, never did this one)
LU: +1 or +2 from Hubologist

As for hubologists, you can get the scan at two places. NCR can increase your LU by 2, SF LU and INT by 1, but they can have also adverse effects instead. Recoomend saving before trying it.

So as you can see, STR over 5 is good only if you need it at high level before obtaining power armor-so melee/unarmed char 7 or 8, heavy weap char 6. Capacity really isn't issue as you will obtain car quite soon ingame.

The "perfect" Fallout character is the one you edit for perfect stats, skills and perks with a character editor. If you are going to use Meta knowledge go the whole way.

You only get a permanent AG bonus if you mod the game with an inofficial patch..

It's not about maying statpoints, but about making the "perfect" character. And the price of 2 AP for bruiser isn't that efficient.

@Darth
Hex-editing is not acceptable. Bugs that allows you to shortcut to an otherwise reachable point (the level 99 thing) is ok, because it does nothing what isn't reachable within "normal" circumstances (only faster).

Pariah dog gives a normal Trait, not a Karma-trait. I also never found that dog neither in the unpatched, nor the patched game.

I was talking about the marriage. The "divorced" or "widow" status never repleaces the "married" status in the unpatched game, and I didn't try it in the patched version.

PS: @Sarin:
You left out the Incrised (stat) perks.
Also, Heavy Weapons specialists with the bonuses require 9 STR final, as that's the requirement for one of their weapons.

Who said anything about Hex editing. I said a character editor, which you can use to make the "Perfect" meta knowledge character you lot are going on about. Shortcutting as you put it, is still using bugs and exploits in the game in ways that were not intended...in other words cheating. If you are going to use your knowledge of these cheats to make the "Perftect" character then go the whole hog and have a lot more fun.

Or is this just Serious Buisness.

Many things in this game were "not intended", but can be done without cheating.

Now on the other hand, all-10 character is NOT avaiable through in-game situations, so that is hex-editing, even if you do it with nitty-bitty interface.
Also pay attention that I never suggested abusing real bugs, like allowing the Mesticator in the unpatched version tearing your ear, or suffering extrem radiation.

I think you just don't get the difference between "perfect" (having mega-knowledge) and "cheater" (achieving things via outside source).

You fail to understand the word Meta in this context, it literally means "Outside knowledge". I don't know if a perfect 10 character is possible, but what you are doing to get to level 99, in a few hours as you put it, is using exploits. The game makers did not intend for people to use them like that at all. I play games for fun, I enjoy playing RPGs as myself or a set style of character (A paladin, a healer, a nutter whatever I feel like). If that means not having the "Perfect" starter character, that is going to have a hard time through the first part of the game..which is one of the best story building parts..just so I can beat the game in record time with a overpowered monster, well thats how it goes.

I understand perfectly well using my prior experience of the game to do things the "best" way. I sometimes do it when I want to get the best endings for my certain character. However I don't use exploits in the game, or bugs, or abuse of the save system. If I am going to "cheat" to get myself some perfect character I will go the whole hog and have fun doing it. That means no Strength 2 or 4 character (well actually 4 isn't that bad) that needs to find power amour fast overwise he can't even carry the smallest load.

But then again if you have fun doing it this way good for you, keep doing it. If you aren't having fun...why are you playing the game at all.
