But the point is that I never HAVE A VISION.

I go into the desert, I walk around (not seeing the palace), alone, BUT even though my eyes turn blue I see NO VISION. I have followed the walktrhough to the letter, yet the the vision doesn't trigger. Oh well.

Go away from the palace. About three spaces after you stop seeing it. Then wait there. You'll see a vision.

I just bought the first dune game from Virgin Interactive. It was a favorite of mine growing up, but I can't run it. Do i need a DOS emulator or what? Would love some help...

According to the review here on Abandonia, it should be working fine on Windows XP. However I remember I had to run it through Dosbox (DOS emulator you can download from Abandonia) to get past the intro. So best give that a shot.

i have Dosbox, but when i go to install the game it wont create the file on the c drive. any tips?

Here is Abandonia's DOSBOx tutorial. When you set properly your DOSBox, then it should work.

If you downloaded game from Abandonia, then you don't have to install the game. Just unzip it to your C-Drive folder and play it.

i get as far as the CD program launcher (post installation) and then it won't run the program. i just sit there typing commands and getting illegal command responses.

scratch that. got the game running, but with so sound. downloaded VDM sound, but when i try to run it in dosbox, dosbox "encounters an error" and shuts down. help me because i feel DUMB
