Umm, every now and then I see a person post a reguest asking for a game that is ESA protected, but is available at HOTU, are we allowed to post links to the dl at HOTU? Or would that be considered promoting warez?

I doubt it would work to link a game because of the security code you have to put in to get them to work, also it would be considered rude i think.

? No I meen not host the games here, I meen give a link to the game info page where they have the dl link, not directly to the dl so that when you click on the link here the dl starts.

HOTU is a great site! I first heard of Abandonia there
 Next thing is I dl games and stuff from there time to time. HOTU is not evil, no a warez site or anything, just antoher abandonware and freeware site working fully legally. A brother site, to say so.  But Abandonia is the best of all!!!

HOTU is not evil...but its unfair that they can host games that we cant. |

Its not unfair. We are just as lawful as can be here at Abandonia. If HOTU hosts a ESA protected game, they will have a lawsuit on their head sooner or later

the expalination is rather simple- some companies will allow you to host their games if you whine long enough about it (we had such agrements too), but this is done on a single case basis (meaning that one day we might get a game HOTU doesn't have! :w00t: ).
BTW, HOTU isn't evil, but words like "slow","iefficient" and "!@#$%^&*" ( ) come to mind constantly while browsing (especialy at the most interesting moments- after the updates) |

To be honest I would rather wait to make sure the game is not protected anymore and download from. At least I will feel like I'm not cheating the game makers!
