Exclamation

The arcade in front of my old house had this one -the arcade version with more colours-. I never played, but it made a HELL of noise. (I'm not that old, it's just that this arcade was hugely obsolete, it was kind of a retro-kitsch videogames museum.)

An arcade which was "hugely obsolete" ??? People should be BANNED for making comments like that!

Hey hey hey, it's easy to say that now that we're nostalgics in the Windows era, but you'd also have been pissed off, when you were a kid, if the arcade next to your house had Galaxian and Donkey Kong Instead of Street Fighter II or, hell, even After Burner.

Didn't play this much on it own, when i was younger (i wont say just how much younger, but enough to feel old when people mention beinmg a kid when street fighter II came out). My brothers girlfreind (now wife) bought him a GORF machine.

For those not in the know gorf you played in 'waves' up to the mother ship, whic if you beat you got promoted.

the waves went , astro invaders (space invaders clone), Laser batter( a bit like glaxain only with two 'laser' ships which fired long laser beams at you), then came a wave of galaxians (the connection that makes this slightly less off topic), then a space warp(where the enimey would come spiraling out of the middle of the screen towards you), and the finaly the mother ship,(where you have to blow a hole in the reactor to blow it up). You then started again at a slightly higher level.

the galaxian wave was always my favoirite.

Aaaah, Galaxian... I think I broke more than one NES controller playing this one...

I recomend downloading a NES rom and NES emulator if you really like this game as the NES version is far more techicaly advanced (go figure :P)

Then I'd recommed downloading the arcade roms and playing them in MAME.
