Great. I haven't actually played it, but I remember reading reviews, so the prizes part of your hint made me think of it.

In this game that starts out on a space station, you have to travel to strange planets in order to save the human race from certain doom (yet again). It's an adventure game.

I don't know if you'd find it in the request forum, since I haven't looked for it, but I guess there is a chance. It's not Space Quest).

Hint: As I said, the graphics are pretty sparse, this is because you don't actually need graphics to play the game. You can type all commands, instead of using the interface.
