I find that getting any actual information out of people in this game is a huge pain.

Forget about playing this game. Wasteland was a great and influential game for its time. I used to love this game. The fact is Wasteland has NOT aged well, at all. This game serves its historical purpose. However, I would not recommend it to anyone for today's gaming, unless you want to study the history of gaming and catch up with all the old games.

This maybe seems a little lame, but where is the cave entrance?
The cave in Highpool?

On the west cliff wall beside the stream, a little north from the corner where Bobby is, there are 2 trees along the cliff wall separated by one space from each other. Use perception on the space between the trees, then use a rope.

Personally this subquest is quite pointless though, you can recruit Jackie but she's a terrible NPC.

Someone who comes to Abandonia or other old game site, looking for old classics, is actively seeking out these games for some reason or another. Why not give this one a go as well? It is to be expected that the game engines, graphics, interface etc will be vastly inferior to current games, more so with this game coming out in the late 80s. But (you knew this was coming) what it lacks in those departments, it makes up for in terms of gameplay, replayability, the roleplaying elements and personality. These are what make a game a game, and these are why Wasteland warrants attention from any mildly serious gamer. I guess it's OK if you do not wholeheartedly recommend the game to someone, but it's at least worth a mention, with all the caveats of dated graphics etc if you like. My one gripe about the game is that during the first time round, it can be very frustrating just trying to stay alive. Also, it can be unclear what you're supposed to do and where you're supposed to go next to advance the plot in the right way.

You might not love this game anymore, but personally speaking, I first played this game over 10 years ago. After completing my first game, my party consisted of 3 of the original characters, plus 2 duplicates of my strongest character and 2 NPCs. I've managed to save my original party (but discarding NPCs at will) and still play them occasionally until the present day. It's always fun, although my party might be a little too strong (without hacking mind you, 49 Brawling???), my highest ranked character is a Specialist Major, and my character stats improve a little each time. LOL

Fixing toasters is indeed good. But I wish there were more toasters (I think there are only 3 in the game?) so I get more chances to raise my skill!

Wow! Looks like we have a Wasteland 'expert' (or at least has played through the game a few times)

I am quite familiar with the game yes, but I certainly don't know everything about it. So did you find the cave?

This is by far one of the best games that I have ever played. I can't count how many hours/days/weeks/months/years that I've played this game.

I unfortunatly threw out this game when my first computer died, but I downloaded it and I'm adding another year to my time k: . But does anyone know where to get the orignal scenario disks from? I hate having to start all over once you beat it, and the disks would let you reset the game, but you could keep everyone in your party with all their experiance and skills.
