Hi Sort of related problem.
i can run the game OK until i get to around 12 office lengths and 17 stories. then i either get a total lockup (can't even bring up taskmanager) or try to save and get told that there are too many Simtower files open and i have to close some before i can save. sometimes i also get a message saying "diskfull or locked up". hope someone can shed a little light on thiss one. nice one guys. Is, per chance, your HD almost full?
Sim Tower, albeit being a simple game, takes a lot of processing power and memory to run. I remember on my old pentium one when my fan stopped working. The only game which could not run was Sim Tower, it freezed after 2 mins of playing because of the CPU heat. That's when I brought the computer for repair and noticed the fan was faulty. Windows use a big chunk of your HD for "virtual" memory (you can change this in windows options, though I don't remember where). If your HD is full the game will crash when out of memory. |

Cheers dude.
But my HD has 32Gb Free of 37Gb total space. pretty sure the fans still working too. left virtual mem settings as default and it seems to crash or lockup when i turned off Firewall/Virus guard software more than when i leave them on... this is a new one on me. Technoandy |
