Tintin may not be English, but Captain Haddock was, wasn't he?

The Tin Tin Stories are really great, Captain Haddock is English
and lives in Marlinspike Hall, and has very colourful language,
originally was a secondary character but came to have more and
more a leading role in the stories, Tintin himself is a young
reporter, he was "born" in 1929, and his companions, Snowy
the indominatible dog, Tchang, Castafiore, Cuthbert Calculus a
handyman turned iniventor modeled on Piccard and the Bathyscape,
, and Thomson and Thomson (not twins or brothers, two bumbling police officers
. Hercules Taragon and "Americanist" or specialist in ancient American
Indian things.....and so on, the subjects are all from the 1930's with
some being moderninzed as they were re done in translation, but
are all over the world with advenerous plots and many differrent
topics and locals. The author was Belgan, and a wonderful reconteur
of life and Europe and beyond.

Through all of the 23 books (a 24th published posthumously) by Herge,
Tintin remains pure of heart, and a hero. The Tibetan monks call him
"Great Heart" a very moral person of great integrity.
He supports his friends all the way, pushes himself to the limit, an
never gives in. :Titan:

They are wonderful subjects for games, and I think Tintin in Tibet is
actually awaiting a review for the site here...hopefully someone will
take it up so we can enjoy it soon.

According to the "official" Tintin site they are not even brothers,
just similar in appearance, I thought they were twins forever,
in the old days so it was a surprise to me. I loved the old
books and even the period outfits and old style cars etc.
what a record all that is of a lost time and era.....

great to have the games, but so far I am not getting very far
with Tintin in the museum in the game up on the site, i will
try again later this weekend.

I see. Maybe something got lost in the translation, 'cause here in my translated edition, Captain Haddock always referred to them as the Siamese twins. Thanks! k:
