Is it abandonware?

Unreal Tournament I-based...... late 1999................. come on....

Original: impossible... too old...
and I don't want to buy it secondhand @ ebay or amazon

1999-published = does not fall into the not-newer-then-8-years requirement. So it's a definite no-no.

It sure isn't abandonware. But I have to be honest - I am a huge fan of the Wheel of Time books, and this game was a terrible disappointment. A quick froogle search turned up a decent number of places still stocking it though, so if you enjoyed the game - buying it is really the best idea

I'm currently reading the sixth book in the series. I don't think the game could measure up.

Great Books, though.

i rented this game when i was somewhere 17 from a public library in the netherlands. Yes i was 16 when the game came out. It was completely and singularly disapointing. I am still a great fan of the earlier books and the latest WoT books (somewhere in between is kinda boring, i still have them and read them every so many years), but that video game was really, really not worth the effort

I have to disagree, i don't know the books and as a game it was excellent,
especially the multiplayer is tons of fun - you know the citadel mode or what it was called.
Sadly nobody is playing it online anymore.
I know it's pretty pointless to reply to a year old comment,
but i was feeling the urge to defend it a bit,
i feel it's highly underrated that's all.
