Looks like 4shared is the next best place after Mediafire...
I kinda breached my store limit there.

Got ~3.5Gb to upload. ISO packed and split is 17x200Mb and 1x50 Mb.
You guys think 4shared would be easier than megaupload/another mediafire account?

Thinking about it - is it worth getting a pro account at these places..?
They offer more space and "faster" transfer, but say nothing about reliability or the fact there are so many other places offering free stuff.

I know that this is a few months old, yet for any new uploads, could I recommend that people start using 4Shared so that the ISOs will stay around for much longer than other uploading services? The reason for this is the fact that SpiDoL's Sonic CD ISOs were removed quite quickly from Uploading.com, and this isn't a good thing at all for the ISO Cellar.

Default How about Dropbox?

Would Dropbox be usable? Here's the feature list and page of policies.

Even though I'm a newbie here, I'd like to backup Professor Oak on the recommendation of 4Shared. I have about 125 GB of files uploaded there spread among 15 free accounts and the oldest files are over 2 years old. I have only once had the files from a couple of accounts deleted; this was before they upgraded the free accounts to 10 GB of space (maybe they lengthened their time for auto-deletion as well, I don't know).

This may help those whose files are being deleted quickly. Obfuscate your file names (i.e. name them something else than what they contain).

Do you guys consider Usenet a viable ISO alternative? Those file sharing sites always seem so shady to me.

A good Usenet server will have a 2+ year retention. Tiny NZB files can be used to direct a downloader to the file(s) without the hassle of downloading 100,000,000 headers per group.

Of course, a good NSP costs around 10.00 USD per month (which is a definite drawback)... but it sure beats constantly monitoring a 1-file-per-session metered download of 16 RAR files at 25kbps.

usenet is cool, and 10 usd per month isn't too bad, but the problem is that users who download the games themselves have to pay- not just the host (us)

we'd like to make the games available for everyone for free

another availability drawback is that a lot of our users who download from here have problems with getting and unpacking them files themselves, i don't even want to imagine how many people wouldn't know how to use a 3rd party software in order to download something from usenet. and let's face it, it's a hassle even for someone who knows the know how but doesn't use usenet. getting and installing client is tme for a lot of people

if this weren't an issue we'd just probably use torrents on some random free tracker and be fully available while not even paying anything

PACO: I actually disagree about megaupload, and I will tell you why. Perhaps the reason some of the (sorry for curtsing) "ungrateful little bastards" who complain about the "suckage" of megaupload has an ISP who is fighting megaupload, so if you took a look at the site torrenfreak, you would see. That the MPAA and the RIAA are after megaupload and other sites, and some ISP are sucking the big one of RIAA and MPAA. And that goes out to all. But anyway I am beginning to make mirrors of my megaupload files, so people can have an alternative to megaupload.
And I am using multiupload as my mirror alternatives. To please the crowd.

@Wolverine dont misunderstand me. The First Post merely listed up diverse Site which can host Stuff. Its not my personal meaning. You can also write something for Multiupload and i will add it to the List.
