in my opinion intel chips are far less reliable and are more prone to none ram related crashing. And what figures r u using? i read several pc mags (computeractive, Personal computer world and PC Format) and all of which prove amd 64 chips quicker than intel 64. Similar results in the dual core field too. :bleh:

Maybe you should find out, why. Also, have you ran a comparative test in Intel 64-bit CPU? No? Just as I thought.

AMD does have the better 64 bit chip but I'll still go with the Intel because Intel still has better stabillity and Intel doesn't change it's socket type every 4 months...

That is my biggest problem with AMD with every newer version of the chip they release it on a different socket type wich means you have to buy a new motherboard every time. Intel has only recently changed it's socket type for the first time since the introduction of the P4...

Well, you forgot to give the choice:

"I don't care 'coz I have an Apple G5 (IBM-Processor) with 64 bit and a real Unix 64bit OS"

That would go for me. Anyway, Apple plans to go to Intel CPUs but I would always prefer AMD 'coz of the "WINTEL" thing. AMD just seems to be cooler.

BTW my PC for gaming is a 32bit AMD 3200+ and it goes quite well. I don't see any difference between my cousin's 64 bit processor with this Windows 64bit thingy.

AMD all the way!

They've had this 64bit and dualcore gameplan for ages. Intel are struggling to keep up, and their offerings aren't as well thought out.

Example: AMD dual core chips have an inbuilt separate bus for communication between the cores, wheras the Intel equivalents use up space on the FSB.

AMD runs much cooler than the Intels with Hyperthreading. So, that means your processor won't melt... I had a processor once that had a fan rated much to slow for it, and that made a nasty silicon mess everywhere! Not to mention the smell...
