I picked up Valve's Orange Box a few weeks back, and i've never been this addicted to a game in forever. I played Team Fortress Classic a lot back in high school and loved it, but then I stopped because there were only ever like 4 human players online at any given time.
It's such a breath of fresh air to see an FPS game that goes for humor and cartoony characters instead of every other new shooter out today that are all some super-serious and gritty army man crap that goes for super-realism... or some generic space man in a world of green and purple glowing shapes... And every class is really fun to play as, as opposed to the old Team Fortress, where I only liked using like 3 of the classes. The balance is much better now, and the expressions and phrases that the characters shout mid-game add a lot of personality. I love this game! My SteamID is Zafo999 if anyone wants to fight. |

Meh, I can only drool over screenshots...
I love the "Meet the ..." videos. If I am ever to play the game, I'd be either heavy or scout.

Team fortress 2 is so much fun! the sheer cheesiness of the cartoon visuals just makes you laugh, and the classes all screaming a catch phrase every once in a while. Oh and the appropriate weapons...spies with their butterfly knives, snipers with their rifles...the scouts speeding around with the baseball bats...They modified the sapper's remote charges so they are sticky...
Sentries take time to upgrade now, and spies can easily nuke them. The gameplays changed as well to more of a squeezed in map, with some interactive trains that mush people. |

I didn't play classic but I love this game too!
The sniper is great fun and the spy too very addictive stuff. I think that the soldier is a bit over used and it gets tedious having 4 or 5 of them in a 10 man team. Good stuff. |

I agree with you about the Soldier. Usually all you need is a team of soldiers to dominate... which I wouldn't mind if he were as fun to play as most classes. Perhaps they could tone him down a bit. Make him maybe a bit slower or weaker, or make his rockets not be the ultimate kill-everything-even-if-you-don't-aim weapon.
