Of course the older SoundBlasters like the AWE32 and 64 didn't have any better wavetable MIDI, they're miles worse than what Roland's cards managed to produce. That why the Soundblaster option in the Dos games should be the last resort when nothing else available, and that's why using the emulator is still a better option than not using it. In most cases at least.
Speaking of AWE32, the single MIDI for Dungeon Keeper that was designed specifically for Soundblaster AWE32 sounds much better when played in MT-32 mode, with the emulator. Ironical, isn't it. |
