Default Dosbox Tutorial Recording

I would like to record a tutorial for setting up Dosbox, and then installing Norton Commander (as in Fifths Tutorial) however I am not to sure about setting up Dosbox in the users area. As I am the only user and the admin for my computer my Dosbox has always worked fine without being setup in the users area.

So far I know how to mount the file I need to, however to do so I need to do this,

mount c c:\users\daniel~1\oldgames

I didn't know that long filenames would need to be entered like that, or is it because I have a space in the folder name and Dosbox doesn't understand that?

I just want to make sure that when I tell people how to mount their user name that I am doing it right. At the moment I plan on telling people to mount c:\users to check what their user namer folder will be called.

Use apostrophes (or what ever they are called):
mount c "c:\users\what ever"

IIRC, the quote marks are only required if the path contains spaces.

It's because no command line utility can tell the difference between a space that's part of an argument and one that separates arguments. That's what the quotation symbols are for - "This string continues until you find a matching quotation mark."

If I tell people to use the quotes and it doesn't have any spaces that will still work correct?

If so that will be a lot easier to explain.

It's caused by the space, but not only by that, if the folder has more than 8 characters, it's shortened this way..
