As far as I know, you are not right, at least here in Sardinia:
i went to my personal vendor (about a week ago) asking for a new computer specifically designed for my special attitude (old games/internet) and when, after asking for RAM, Processor, Videocard and so on, i become to ask for O.S. in this way : Incappucciato : "Well, as for O.S.. it's possible to avoid Winzzoz SVista and.." Vendor : "WHAAAT? WHAT?? We sell computer not shit !!!!!!!" Incappucciato: To be briefly, i obtained a regular copy of Win XP Home for my new computer (probably, assemblying the Pc, vendor has taken a not selled copy from another Pc or they had acquired copy for this purpouse: in fact in the box there is the tipycal statement "only sellable with a PC") |

Anyway I'd still make sure that it's legal if he's going to charge you for it. There are lots of vendors installing cracked software without the buyer's consent or knowledge. http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/val...lidateNow.aspx Anyway I'd go for Vista.
