If you're running it straight in win98, then I believe that's your problem. Menzoberranzan requires dos, so try to use DOSbox or VDMSound.

you can get it on amazon or ebay for sure. i suppose there are also other sources,
but keep in mind that this game's most probably ESA-protected so other ways to get hold of it are illegal. that said, you won't get it here on abandonia. |

cool game, but there's a bug: if you kill a creature, and keep hitting it with spiritual hammer, you get multiple xp

!!!WARNING!!!
In the first cave where you're looking for gems to enchant DO NOT SAVE GAME WHEN YOU HAVE DRUNK POTION OF JUMP AND THE "JUMPING ENCHANTMENT" IS STILL ACTIVE! If you do it, the option to jump and even remaining potion of jump in your backpack disappear! I have tried it twice with the same result. |

This game has REALLY bad graphics. The interiors look OK though. :not_ok:
I can't distinguish the monsters from the backgroung graphics. |

Did someone read Salavatore's books about Drizzt and Menzobarrazan? If yes, do you think this game is a good portrait of that world?

I first bought, played and finished Menzo when it first came out on cd-rom. I've recently gotten back into DOS gaming and I'll hopefully get around to maybe replaying this game again some day soon. It's not the best of the SSI DOS rpgs but I still found it to be fairly enjoyable overall back in the day. |

the picture displayed of the Drow holding a scimitar is the original cover for the book Homeland.
This Drow is Drizzt. |
