Default Last Rites

This is a very old game, graphically similar to Doom, where you walk through a city infested by the undead to kill them. Not sure how to end a level, because about 10 years back when I used to play it, it scared the Jesus out of me.

Basically, what I remember is this neat starting screen, depicting a few living soldiers (or a single one, can't be sure), surrounded by tons of undead... with a dark, helpless feeling on their faces (not on the undead but the soldiers xD). The game started with your character summoned in the middle of a city street at night, and a few soldiers constantly following you serving as additional firepower. Every now and then, as you explored the city, the undead would storm out of a distant corner and run towards you in great numbers to kill you. As you shoot them, it could happen you severe the upper part of an undead, and blood would be splattering from his stomach as his legs still moved towards you.

If they "killed" one of the soldiers, the soldier would be lying on the ground covered in blood, and moving his limbs every now and then, either proving he's alive or turning into undead, not sure. There were some automated guns aligned against you, shooting diamond-like projectiles to deal damage to your team.

I remember I quit playing when I had a low HP, all of my guys were dead, and I reached some church with a graveyard nearby. Eerie

Help out.

Damn. Your description reminds me of one game that I wanted to play but never did. I hope this is the one, and I hope the name will be found!

Could you be talking about 'GoldenEye' a Total Conversion for Doom II ?

[EDIT]
Meant to say:
Dawn of the Dead total conversion for Doom2, not Goldeneye.

No, for both.

I ran into Corpse Killer while attempting to find the game on my own, but that isn't it.

As for this Doom mod, I never heard of it, but seeing a few screenshots I'm positive it isn't the one either.

However, I'm still bleeding trying to find the game... it probably wasn't too successful when being so hard to find But what did I know of quality as a 10-year old anyway...

Thanks for the replies, though.

Don't give up man, this could be even easy one. Someone might run into it some day.

Found it... it's called Last Rites.

Funny, because I wasn't even looking for it when I ran into it.

But it does seem as if I was right. It wasn't successful, I mean the game had an excellent premise but one gets a feeling it was rushed, because the textures were inferior when compared to other games in the period, and sound isn't quite matching either. Still, I might play it through for sentimental value's sake xD

Also, I could swear the starting screen was a different... perhaps I mistook it for another game that broke my nerves down... or perhaps I did play through a couple of missions and mistook it for a cool starting picture before every mission. Well, who knew...

See if it's the one, Morrin.

Default I can upload original ISO

I have an original copy of this game. I think it's one of the most underrated games in the history, even though it has some flaws. Completing a level often gets too long time and you will get stuck very often. On the other hand, the size of levels is abnormally big, great atmosphere, cartoon-style menu and level themes and one of the best music I ever heard in a computer game. The problem was too high system requirements while the graphics weren't on par with the best games of the period, the engine consumed very much resources just on lighting.

If there would be an interest in this game, I can post ISO.
