Its maybe a strange idea, but what about creating a company, buying rights of old games which can not be bought, but are not abandonware (protected by either the company or the ESA) and sell them as a cheap brand over the net?

Some gamerights must be quite cheap, because here in Hungary there is a company (www.evm.hu) who does that and sells the games mostly for 999-1999 HUF (4-8 Euros)

Not here, you make that much in less than an hour working in McDonalds or some other crap job (no offence meant Titan) because we have a ?4 an hour minimum wage (I love Britain ). That means you could buy the rights to one game per hour and still have change.

Why not buy the rights and then make them freeware?

Where can you buy the rights to games (preferably in English)? Because it would be quite cool to own the rights to a game or two

Oh, Jebus...

Earthworm Jim is up for grabs right now, last time I checked. That's why it's technically abandonware. A LOT of Shiny products are up for grabs, actually.

That sounds a bit like you want Abandonia to run a monopoly, , although it is a great idea.
