Nice game, but be more careful with history when writing rewievs:

...is set during the era of the great Viking explorations and before the rise of the Roman Empire....

Roman Empire is not the Holy Roman Empire...* :w00t:
I don't really understand what you are trying to say, but i remember double checking this phrase(the exact phrase exists in the intro movie) when i wrote the review, because it sounded fishy [/b][/quote]
Well, to make it simple:

Roman Empire - formed by Romans, divided in 395 a.d. in West and East, West lasted till 476 a.d., East - Byzantine Empire, destroyed by Osmans 1453 a.d.

Holy Roman Empire - continued the tradition of Roman Empire and Frank's Empire (Charles the Great), powerful confederation at the beginning, only the formal title in the end. Formed in 962 a.d. and till 1254/73 called Roman-German Empire, till 1519 Holy Roman Empire, and when it came apart in Napoleonic Wars in 1806 it was knowen as "German's Holy Roman Empire" (not sure with translation however)

Vikings: 8th-11th century, raids all over the Europe and voyages to the New World

Hope that will help. Thanks to my book of history :bye:

I think this is better?

Another gem from New World Computing, Hammer Of The Gods is set during the era of the great Viking explorations and before a mighty new empire arose in Europe, from the ashes of the Western Roman Empire.
You're right about the difference between the Roman Empire and the Holy Roman Empire, but not many people would spot the difference. That's a sharp eye you've got k:

I think that was the point of calling it the "Holy Roman Empire"

Well, my dates weren't great but not too bad off the top of my head.

That's a much better form Seb.

Lirie, Rketech
you are executing hammer.bat? Ok yes you are re-read your posts.

i made the mistake of using hamgam.exe.
it just didn't like it.

When i tried Hammer.bat dosbox gave me an error message regarding subst but then loaded and ran the game without problems.

i ignored any request for input and just hit enter.......?????????

Well, it gives me some rubbish bout subst, and then tells me to insert CD and exits the bat. Worst of all, it sends a clear inbetween the subst error and the CD call, so that I'm not even able to give you the correct error msg. Well, i'll try to lower the cycle a bit.

I just tried loading the game by clicking the hammer.bat in the game directory
it gives me a very brief nocd mssg and then quits.
you are mounting through dosbox and not starting directly from the game directory?

not having a go made the same mistake myself when first started using dosbox
