It's from a business that has gone insolvent and is now emptying their storehouses.

Hey! I'm also getting a laptop for DOS, although It'll be a DOS 6.22 / Win98 dual boot (for the extra fun )
What I'm looking for is an instant messenger for DOS that supports the MSN protocol. Anyone know of one?? EDIT: Don't want to hijack the thread tho |

I had some horrible experiences with dos 6.22 (or some version number VERY near) and win95..
at first I got a windows protection error then I disabled a HDD controller... then I installed win95 nvida drivers as win95 was running in 16 colour then I got a windows protection error I managed to get the sound up and running but I couldnt get beyond 16 colours windows 3.1 was better but I couldnt get the sound to work.. still... does the laptop have anything installed by default? |

Onboard soundship might cause you sound problmes, otherwise it's ok. if it's really compbatible with SB then you shouldnt' have any problems.

Computers with custom soundcards in those days had to be
SB compatible, otherwise they wouldn't have survived. I'm really not that worried about it. |

I used to have a desktop computer with a pentium 133 and 64Mb of memory until cristmans and it worked fine with win98, it run all the dos games in pure dos AND severals win games incluing "the sims", "populous", "worms armagedon", "starcraft", and many more.
Don't know if is the the same with laptops, but if it is, then tis laptop should be great! I would buy it BUT put win98. |

You see, the thing with me and DOS is that I want the "atmosphere" of using pure DOS. I've always had a thing for that black screen...but aside from that, the whole laptop idea is on rest for the time being, as I had some trouble with my eBay account. Well, it's not mine, but that's actually were the problem is.
