I'm having the same problem too. And I'm Using DosBox! O_O ... Well, actually, ... ... that's not quite the problem.
 (But It USED to be! Pwned by DosBox... ) Now, whenever I try to generate a character, it just simply crashes, with a short and meaningless error message. It also runs quite slow, and I don't think increasing its framerate would work either. The sound is all messed up. ... Probably has to do with the setup programs.Think I should run the setup programs in DosBox as well?  Thanks for your help guys.  I actually own the game from before this great site, but I could only get UU1 to run, via a PCGamer disc from sometime before. Runs perfectly without DosBox..  |

If you're sick of the dark, delete or rename lights.dat in the data directory. It'll be perma-noon then.
