Hi!

My interest in AGS game creation has resurfaced.

Could any of you help direct me to some decent background drawing tutorials and perhaps basic character dimension suggestions for the different game resolutions.

Cheers

Magic :w00t:

Here is a quick pratice room I drew, what suggestions do you have to improve?

The room is supposed to be a damp run down motel room.

About the room: you might have some wallpaper peeling off the walls, a few stains on the floor and some cobwebs, but it looks pretty good already. k: Are you going to leave it empty or is there going to be some damp furniture as well?

Probably you already know it, but here there are few tutorials, and i liked expecially the one called "Drawing backgrounds"... i hope it could help...

About the room, i find it good, but i suppose you are going to put something more in there... oh, in the left side, the bottom lines seem not to meet...

Thanks for the advice.. this was just a quick 'geometry' test.
I was expermenting trying to make differently shaped rooms inside the 320 x 200 box.

I am working on one of the bedrooms for my planned game as we speak. This will be fully furnished and decorated. When its complete or perhaps half finished I would be happy to share it so that I can collect some hints

Thanks for the kind comments!

Magic

Theese backgrounds are alot more challenging than I thought they would be, I cant get a properly drawn bed done... every bed I draw looks crap.

I decided to stop trying to draw the bed and add some other decorations, what'd you think?

Unlit

Lighting Effect.

Im going to have to light it 'Old Skool' method me thinks.. that PhotShop light makes it look to pronounced in some areas.

Looking good. I think you'll end up with a nice room in the end

Tom, could you offer a helping hand in the 'Bed' department?

How would I go about creating a decent looking bed?

I am really having trouble with it, I have spent about 4 hours on trying to draw a bed.. and still have nothing.

Thanks for the compliments

Start by making a square, then go from there :P

Actually. Make a bed using geometrical figures (like squares), then edit it piece by piece. At the end, you would have a bed.
