Yesterday the dutch people rejected the constitution for europe.
Just as france are the The Netherlands one of the founding parties of the current europian institution.

I wonder what's next.

Well, Tony Blair can avoid an embarassing "no" vote here in Britain since there wouldn't really be much point in this draft any more. Back to the drawing board say I!

We (Iceland) don't want it. We want our fish for ourselves.
Or something like that.

Well I pressed the yes button, but the other dutch people wouldn't agree with me :P

It's obvious that the arrogant liberal dutch government hasn't got a single shred of convincement left. But since they put out a very very bad campaign I think they've got theirselves to blame here.

On the other hand it's a sad thing most of the voters searched their feelings instead of their brains, because this referendum has got hardly anything to do with national politics at all.

Ah well, we'll survive though.

If that suggests we just blindly followed the french in their saying no I would have to say that's not the case. The dutch might have voted no for the same reason though: out of discontenticy with the national government.

(I don't know is discontenticy is a legitimate word but I like the sound of it :P)

That has actually been one of the arguments the dutch government had been putting out to make us vote yes. Really.
