Default VDMSound and Screenshots?

Is it possible at all? I have a few games that neither run in DOSbox nor the "normal" XP console that I'd like to take screenshots of.

Elaborate, perhaps? Irfanview's standard screenshot capture function is not capable of taking screenshots from VDMSound. All it produces are black images.

As far as I know, VDMSound has little to do with graphics, taking screenshots from a game run with it is taking them from Windows, and that can be tricky in a few cases. PrnScr should copy the current image into the Windows clipboard, so you can paste it in MS Paint or anything; but that doesn't always work for various reasons, as seems to be your case since you can expect the same result as with Irfanview or other image capture software; but do try anyway.

Works here when running games in a windowed mode, not full screen.
Irfanview -> options-> capture -> foreground window 'client area'

If it fails on your PC another solution is to run them dosgames that won't run in dosbox in VPC/MsDos 6
Or run a dos TSR screengrabber.

Ah, yes, I remember some DOS games being able to run in a window back when I had my first Pentium PC with Win95.

Dunno if it's because of the games, WinXP or VDMSound, but none of the games I've tried can run in windowed mode.
