Where'd you grab the demo for fallout anyway? Just wondering, since I've been meaning to try it as well.

Well, as it happens, I was cleaning out my room ovr the weekend, and came across a cd with it on it. I remembered that magic was looking for it so... Tada!

Edit: Just get the whole directory.

Oh, and it works fine in Windows 95 compatability mode.

Well, Fallout itself works perfectly well on WinXP

True, that.

Oh, and if you do buy Fallout 2 - Install the patch before you start playing! It invalidates your saves...

Edit: I believe that there may have been a DOS varsion of Fallout 1, but the demo is definitely Windows only.

:w00t: There's *tons* of bugs in the initial release! You may have a later version. There's little that'll crash it, but there's a load of problems with some quests (especially the more complex ones, like in New Reno)

Regardless, the game is well-playable without it, but it's better with imo!

One more thing: This demo is a fairly bad representation of Fallout - the actual game has a slightly easier to use interface, and has a good bit more roleplaying; the demo just winds down into a big fight. That's not to say I didn't play it a load of times to see every possible outcome! (Usually me taking everyone on with the minigun )

Wow. I never noticed. I DO have the original released. I know some of the bugs in Reno, but overall the game works excellently.

I never played the Demo, I just got the game. Impulse buy worked out quite well
