just make sure theres nothing obviously wrong with the mainboard before trying the new powersupply.

mostly likely it was just the old power supply dying, and a new one will fix everything.

Well I did buy a cheap one from ebuyer abt ?15 apparently 600Watts so thts abt 350 probally, It has Purple LEDs too! LOL

its not always about the brand, and you dont need a =really= expensive one.
they found that some of the less dirt cheap ones (that were still from china) are as good as the expensive ones.
IE: the ones you get inside a cheap case are junk. but a cheap power supply that you buy by itself = can be adequate to good.
just dont buy dirt cheap ones, it really is a false economy. this is true for most things. especially technology!

The one i had before was acollermaster one for round ?30 if i memba right i always buy cases w/out PSUs

don't worry it was just a nuclear explosion :P
most probably nothing happened......just power supply problem.... however the possibilities are limitless.
If i were you i would check the power cord or the plug, maybe the reason it haven't started is because of no electricity going to the power supply and then a big surge of power arrived and burned the power supply. (electricity not being correctly administered)
