To be totally honest a1s, i don't know if this last post of yours is in answer to my post or to efthimios', but the one thing i know is i don't understand a word of it. :crazy:

the 80s refers to a time period between 1980 and 1989 inclusive.
a processor is the part of your PC that actualy performs computations.
a CPU (Central Processing Unit)- is the main one. it's one of the most important parts of your PC, because a computer can run without a screen, without a mouse, soundcard, Hard drive, etc. but it can not run without a CPU.
a GPU (Graphic Processing Unit)- is a nonessential processor that makes graphics relatged computations, and reduces the load on your CPU.
an SPU (Sub Processing Unit )- was a processors that could (relatively) quickly perform operations on fractions (numbers with a floating point, to be exact), when the CPUs became powerfull enough they stoped producing those.
and socks are those things you put on your feet. the term "clean" means that they haven't been worn since the last time they were washed.

Let's keep our temper please. I meant no insult (you'd have known if i did). What i meant was who was wrong ? Me with my pentium MMX guess ? Or efthimios when he said different cpu and you think he meant gpu ?

And there are no such things as clean socks.

Damn, I wish I had read the original post.

Anyway I am aware of the difference between FPU, CPU, GPU. I am into computers since 1984 (87 bought my first) and while I am not THE expert I can differentiate between the above.

none was taken, but you said you "didn't understand a word of" my post, and as I last checked 80s is a word , the part about socks was just a clean joke, and I could fully understand it if you didn't know jack about SPUs, I for one have very limited knowledge of music or masonry...
